Hoping someone can help me. First of all, I'm looking
for the equations to solve the lower flat pattern "L" & "W".
The upper cone equations works great and are correct (I believe) to
solve for "L" & "W" when the center point of the flat pattern
is outside the cone pattern. Using different Inputs, the lower cone
flat pattern has the center point inside the cone pattern. My issue
is, I don't think I can use the same equations for the lower cone
as I did in the upper cone because the numbers are not jiving. I'm
thinking when "A" is less than 180 deg, the equations above works,
but when "A" is greater than 180 deg, I may need to modify some of
the equations. I went on line and used several configurators using
the same inputs for the lower cone. The results for the on line
configurators were all the same so I'll assume those calculation
are correct but I'm trying figure what those formulas are. I hope
I'm explainging this correctly. So in short, I'm trying to figure
out "L" & "W" for the lower cone with equations that I can
duplicate in excel. Finally, please only answer this if you are
postive and confident that what you are providing is
correct!!!
