The steel composite section consists of a 600x20 mm thick steel plate which is placed on the top flange of a Universal Beam (UB) Section 5 (See Table 1). They are bolted together to form the composite section as shown below. The universal beam sectional properties are given in the table below. The modulus of elasticity for steel is 200 GPa.
