Problem 02: -T, -25 °C h = 10 W.mk T. = ? r.= 20 cm The outer surface of a long hollow cylinder is exposed to the atmospheric air at To = 25 °C and h = 10 W.m-2. K-1 while the the inner surface is perfectly insulated. An electrical current passing through the cylinder leads to a uniform heat generation within the cylinder 0g = 500 W.m-3. If the inner and outer diameters of cylinder are di = 20 cm and do = 40 cm, respectively: 1) Calculate the temperature of the outer surface of the cylinder r = 10 cm = T = ? Generated heat due to electrical current = 500 W.m 2) Find the temperature of the inner.
