The purely converging nozzle operates with the following given conditions on the inflow: Inflow Mach Number, M; = 0.26914137 Inflow Static density. Pi = 2.056320329 kg/m Inflow Area. A;= 51.614757 cm? The mass-flow-rate is: m = 10 kg/sec Use R = 0.287 kJ/K/kg and y = 1.4 Mi = 0.26914137 Pi = 2.056320329 kg/m A; = 51.614757 cm m = 1.0 kg/sec
Determine: 1. The static temperature at the inflow, T; (in degrees K). 2. The static pressure at the inflow, Pi (in kPa). 3. The stagnation pressure. Po (in kPa). 4. For the given inflow conditions and mass-flow-rate, if the area at exit Ae= 23.86995843 cm?. what are: a) The Mach number at the exit, Me b) The back-pressure. Pb (in kPa) 5. For the given inflow conditions and mass-flow-rate, what is the highest back-pressure. Pb (in kPa) for which the flow is choked (Me = 1.0)
