4 Figure Q4 shows a mechanism comprising three links and two sliders. Slider E is constrained to reciprocate along the vertical direction and slider D is constrained to reciprocate along an inclined orientation of 30°. Link CE is pin-jointed at C and actuates slider E. The link AB rotates clockwise about the fixed point A at a constant angular velocity of 100 rpm. For the instantaneous position shown and using suitable scales: (1) Construct the linkage diagram. (ii) Construct the velocity diagram for all the links. (iii) Construct the acceleration diagram for all the links. (iv) Determine the vertical velocity of slider E. (V) Determine the angular velocity of link CE. (vi) Determine the acceleration of slider D and its direction. (4) (5) (5) (2) (2) (2) Show all calculations. 35mm AB = 30 mm BC = 40 mm BD = 105 mm AF = 120 mm CE = 120 mm 30° 750 100 rpm B Figure Q4 (not to scale)
