Question 1
Read the following scenario and answer the questions that
follow.
The local blood bank conducted a field experiment. A group of
university students were
asked to donate blood every two months for two consecutive years.
Requiring a long-term
commitment of not only time, but also physical and emotional
responsibility, the request
was overwhelming turned down. A day later, the same students were
asked to donate blood
just one time, a sizable 37% of them agreed. The second request
seems much more
reasonable and doable in comparison to the long-term commitment of
the first request.
In the scenario, the local blood bank has successfully used
Door-in-the-face tactic to effect
a change in the students’ behaviour. As an adviser to the blood
bank, suggest any FIVE (5)
central OR peripheral route persuasion tactics you can use to
encourage more students to
sign up as blood donors. Justify why you choose these tactics and
discuss how you intend
to implement them.
Note: Door-in-the-face tactic is the example given in the scenario.
You should not discuss
about this persuasion tactic anymore in your answers. Your
justifications should be based
on the scenario given and they should be original.
