A constant flow rate filtration is designed at 0.01 m3/s for a solution with solid loading of 20 kg/m3 with solid particles with density of 3000 kg/m3. The viscosity of the suspending fluid (filtrate) is 0.001 Pa. s. The geometry of the filtration is a circular with diameter of 0.5 m. Consider the cake resistance is 4.84×106 and filter resistance is 9.68×106. Calculate and plot the variation of pressure within the first 10 min. If the system pressure limit of the system is 100kPa, determine at what time we need to stop the filtration. Also if it takes (5+x) minutes to clean the filter and restart the filtration process, calculate number of cycles of filtration and cleaning in 12 hours?
