Please can you help with this question ?
The irreversible catalytic gas phase reaction A→B2 is carried out over a catalyst of which the composition is totally unknown. It was found that the order of reaction for product A is around 0.7 and that the addition of B lowers the reaction rate (at the same partial pressure, or concentration of A). At constant temperature, the following empirical relation was derived for a differentially operated test reactor: a) Propose a possible reaction mechanism for this reaction, and include details of each reaction step. (7) At increased reaction temperature, the reaction is 1st order in A and the addition of B does not have an influence on the reaction rate anymore. b) Explain this behaviour. (3)
