One detention pond with the characteristic summarized in Table Q4a is proposed at the urban catchment outlet to control the stormwater flow due to development. Surface runoff hydrograph generated from a storm event runs into the pond at the catchment outlet X. It can be estimated using Time-Area method for the following rainfall event data: - Rainfall duration is 30 min - Rainfall intensity is 176.5 mm/hr - Losses is 1.5 mm during the initial 5 min rainfall - Table Q4b shows the area for isochrones corresponds to a 5-min rainfall time interval for the catchment hypothetically shown in Figure Q4. - The rainfall fraction is given in in Table Q4e. Due to storage effects of the pond, determine; i) Outflow hydrograph ii) Change of peak flow and time to peak of outflow hydrograph as compared to the inflow hydrograph, and iii) Maximum water level in detention pond.
Assume the pond elevation is at 30 m for time t=0 min in your routing. (16 marks) (20 marks) Table O4a: Relationship of H,S, and Q
