The suction line has one 90 deg elbow (K=1.5) as well as an entrance (K=0.8). The pipe diameter is 2.0 in, and the ε/D=0.001 (a) (5 pt) Compute the velocity of the water in ft/s (b) (5 pt) Compute the friction factor using Eqn 6.49. (c) (5pt) Compute the friction loss in the suction line. (d) (10 pt) If the NPSHr is 15ft, determine the minimum elevation of the surface of the tank that will avoid cavitation. Specify whether the surface is above or below the pump centerline.
