A vertical tube, 3 m long, with one end closed is insertedvertically, with the open end down, into a tank of water to suchdepth that an open manometer connected to the upper end of the tubereads 150 mm of mercury. Neglecting vapour pressure and assumingnormal conditions, how far is the lower end of the tube below thewater surface in the tank?
