Two identical furnace surfaces are connected by a handle bar (cylindrical shaped). The surface temperatures are Tb=80∘C for both surfaces, and their surface areas are both A=0.1 m2. The handle bar and the two surfaces ae exposed to air (h=15 W/m2⋅K,T∞=25∘C). The thermal conductivity of the handle bar is k=6 W/m⋅K. It has a length of L=20 cm, and a diameter of d= 1 cm. The whole system is at steady-state. (a) Which location on the handle has the lowest temperature (describe it, and mark it in the figure below)? (b) Determine the heat loss rate from the handle bar. (c) What is the efficiency of this system (including two surfaces and the handle bar)?
