Currently the root causes identified, the objective of the solution finding phase is to generate as many ideas as possible as to how to eliminate the root causes. Brainstorming clearly plays a role, but this is organised with a how-how diagram. A concept selection method such as the Pugh chart is used to select among the various solutions that evolve. With the best solutions identified, the pros and cons of a strategy for implementing them is identified with the help of force field analysis. Finally, the specific steps required to implement the solution are identified and written into an implementation plan. Then, as a last step, the implementation plan is presented to the team sponsor. Course Outcome: CO1 Acquire and apply knowledge of mechanical engineering design process. CO2: Demonstrate the product development and process cycle with technological innovation. CO3: Identify the customer's needs and compile the customer's requirements in order to come out with product specification 1. Use how-how diagram to get solutions how to create/ build/ fabricate and etc your idea. (10 marks) 2. Create work breakdown structure in order to complete your idea. (20 marks) 3. Sketch your product to visualise your idea (20 marks)
