The SBRU information system includes four sub-systems: Resortrelations, Student booking, Accounting and finance, and Socialnetworking. The first three are purely Web applications, so accessto those occurs through an Internet connection to a Web server atthe SBRU home office. However, the Social networking sub- systemhas built-in chat capabilities. It relies on Internet access, asstudents compare notes before they book their travel reservationsand as they chat while traveling. To function properly, the systemobviously requires a wireless network at each resort. SBRU isn’tresponsible for installing or maintaining the resort wirelessnetwork; they only plan to provide some design specifications andguidelines to each resort. The resort will be responsible forconnecting to the Internet and for providing a secure wirelessenvironment for the students.
1. For which subsystem(s) is(are) integrity and securitycontrols most important? Why?
2. What data should be encrypted during trans- mission throughresort wireless networks to SBRU systems? Does your answer changeif students interact with SBRU systems using a cell phone(directly, or as a cellular modem)?
