See formulas and examples to calculate loss percentage and cost per
pound after cooking. Below table include one calculation per
formula. Thank you!
To calculate the percentage of weight loss:
% Weight Loss = (W1) – (W2)/ (W1) x 100
To calculate the cost per pound of cooked meat: (W1) x (C1) =
(W2) x (C2)
W1 = weight before cooking
W2 = weight after cooking
C1 = cost per pound before cooking
C2 = cost per pound after cookingExample:
Sample Calculation: Regular Ground Beef
(W1) x (C1) = (W2) x (C2)
(0.22lbs) x ($5.49) = (0.137lbs) x (X)
= $8.82 per pound for regular ground beef after cooking
