A 30-mile, 3-phase, 3 wire transmission line has an impedance of
9 + j12 ohms per wire supplies a balance 3-phase load of 5,000 kVA
at 34.5 kVolt line-to-line, 60 Hz, 0.866 lagging p.f. If a 1,500
kVAR lossless capacitor bank is connected across the load,
determine the size of minimum capacitor bank (no losses) at the
receiving end maintaining 34.5 kVolts between lines to have minimum
voltage regulation?
