"12 Angry Men" is a classic film released in 1957 nominated for an Oscar for best picture and 2 other categories. After watching the movie, apply what you have learned in class to the following: 1. We've talked about "teams" in class, but have not discussed the foundation of organizational behavior - groups and group dynamics. Do some research on groups and the composition of them and determine which characters you would describe as "leader", "observer", "information giver" or "blocker" and explain why. 2. The jurors moved through the stages of team development and behavior that eventually led to a level of team effectiveness. Identify the 5 stages of team development and how they were portrayed in the movie. 3. Was there a possibility that the concept of "groupthink" could occur given the composition of the jury? What was the influence that prevented this from occurring? 4. Explain how group dynamics, effective teams, leadership influence, and communication may be impact a situation in a healthcare setting.
