At present, there is there is no universal definition of
defamation and there is not a set of elements that define
defamation for judiciary concerns. How would a universal
definition of defamation be beneficial?
I recommend finding one definition of defamation and then
considering if there would be a value in having that be universal.
Think about the difficulty in enforcing laws when the
definition of the tort has a different meaning from jurisdiction to
jurisdiction.
