Ms. Mary Poppins is a 65-year-old female that was just received
from the PACU following a right upper lobe lobectomy. The surgery
was performed because she has Stage 3 adenocarcinoma in her right
lung. The surgeons noted there was no lymph node involvement. Her
family (husband, 2 daughters) are in the room waiting for her to
arrive. She has a right forearm IV running at 100ml/hr, a foley
catheter, a chest tube to water seal, and there is a dressing over
the incision. Pt has an epidural patient-controlled pump (PCEA)
with Fentanyl.
