Question 2: [10marks Figure 2, shows a beam in a commercial building. The point load, P consists of permanent load including self-weight of 10 kN and imposed load of 15 kN. The beam is loaded such that it bends about the major axis. The beam is made up of a grade 300PLUS, 200UC52.2 section with the following properties: d=206 mm, by = 204 mm, t = 12.5 mm, tw= 8.0 mm, fyr = 300 MPa, fyw = 320 MPa, A = 6660 m², I= 52.8 x 10 mm, Z=512 x 10 mm, S = 570 x10 mm, 1,= 17.7 x 10mm', Z=174 x 10 mm, S-264 x 10 mm Assume that the beam has full lateral restraint. Use plastic analysis and design to check the adequacy of the beam. ЗР P 2P 4m 3m 3m 3m 3m 2m
