Aresearcher examined the difference in length of time looking ateach picture of 32 suspected criminals recently recorded in severalNew York police stations. The researcher runs a one sample t-testwith α = .05 to see if New York has a significantly differentresult compared to the US population of (µ) with a difference of0.182 seconds. Because the researcher is not predicting adirection, the hypotheses are non-directional.
