Consider as a model for the behavior of electrons conduction inside a metal a potential well of depth V0, which grows quickly close to the metal limits, where it goes to zero. Active energy levels with density proportional to E1/2 and are populated up to the Fermi level. For the silverdepth of the potential well is 10 eV and its work function 4.5 eV (density 10.5 g/cm3 at T = 300 K, atomic weight ~105 g/mol). Determine: a) a density of free electrons in the metal at 300 K; b) how many electrons are given up per atom; c) one average energy of electrons; and d) the temperature at which a gas molecule would have ideal that same average energy.
