Dezi is a 53-year-old triathlete who is 5'9" and 145#. She wants to maintain her weight. She is competing in regional half triathlons and is improving consistently. She has recently dropped her work schedule to 50% so she can focus more on her training. Just this week, AARP decided to take her on as a sponsor her and is writing monthly articles about her training and her successes as she wins more and more competitions in her age group. Lately, she has been intrigued by several dietary supplements she has read about to potentially aid her training and performance. She is also interested in knowing if she is eating right and which nutrients she should focus most on to beat the competition. 1. Her next big half Iron triathlon is the Ironman 70.3 Des Moines in August. Based on her current training, her goal is to stick to the pace of swimming 30-minute miles, biking 3-minute miles, and running 7-minute miles. How long will she be competing during her next event based on her estimates? (2 points) 2. She trains an average of three hours a day with a mix of swimming, cycling, and running during the week. On Saturdays, she spends 5-6 hours training, and she takes Sundays off. You determine her total Calorie needs for an average day to be 3,500 calories.
