(b) A 10-MW gas-turbine plant with a heat rate of 8000 kJ/kWh operates with a 60-% capacity factor. Natural gas fuel currently costs K100 per million kJ. Annual O&M is 8 Ngwee/kWh. The capital cost of the plant is K12,000/kW. The utility uses a fixed charge rate of 0.12/yr. Fuel and O&M costs escalate at 8%/yr and the utility uses a discount rate of 20%/yr over the 25-year life of the plant. Determine the following: (i) annualised capital cost of the plant (K/yr); [4 marks] (ii) initial annual fuel and O&M cost (K/kWh); [4 marks] (iii) levelised annual fuel and O&M cost (K/kWh); [6 marks] (i) levelised bus-bar cost of electricity for the plant. [2 marks]
