Create A Concept Map on Methods for Controlling MicrobialGrowth
Create A Concept Map on Methods for Controlling Microbial Growth Use your textbook and the SoftChalks as a reference for creating this study tool. Let me know if you have questions! 1. Start with your center concept - Methods for Controlling Microbial Growth 2. Draw two arrows connecting to the two categories for controlling microbial growth: Physical Control Methods and Chemical Control Methods. 3. For each mode of action draw arrows (varies in #) with the types of physical and chemical control methods including: moist heat, dry heat, cold, desiccation, radiation, filtration, osmotic pressure, halogens, heavy metals, alcohols, phenolic compounds, oxidizers, aldehydes, detergents, acids/alkalis, enzymes, dyes, and gases. 4. Be sure to add an example and an explanation of each control method. 5. Use different colors to draw a box around each control method based on their mode of action/how they work. For example, all control methods that inhibit protein synthesis would have a red box around them and all methods that inhibit cell wall synthesis would have a green box around them, etc... *Note: All words in blue MUST be included in your concept map.*
