For the rearrangement of cyclopropane to propene at 500 °C (CH₂)3- →CH3CH=CH₂ the following data have been obtained: [(CH₂)3], M time, min -2 9.50x10 10 -2 4.93x10 16.3 |2.56×10 32.6 -2 -2 1.33x10 48.9 The average rate of disappearance of (CH₂)3 over the time period from t = 32.6 min to t = 48.9 min is -1 M min¹.
For the decomposition of hydrogen iodide on a gold surface at 150 °C 2 HI(g) → H₂(g) + I2 (9) the average rate of disappearance of HI over the time period from t = 0s to t = 1705 s is found to be 1.20 × 10-4 M. s-¹. The average rate of formation of I2 over the same time period is M.s-¹. S
