A patient develops CKD. His ABG results are: pH 7.32, pCO2 40,
HCO3 19, PO2 90. The abnormal results of this ABG are due to the
inability of the kidneys to:
a. buffer the respiratory alkalosis.
b. excrete HCO3 into the urine.
c. produce HCO3.
d. reabsorb urea.
