In Question 1 and Question 3 you explored the potential roles of loT, mobile phones and sensors in autonomous cars. In this question you will explore the role of location-based services in this same context. If necessary, you should now re-read this article, before answering the question. a. Describe to a non-technical friend how GPS can determine a car's location. Go on to explain what additional sensors are required to keep the car in an appropriate lane, and how they might achieve this. The maximum word limit for part a. is 100 words. (5 marks) b. Explain to your non-technical friend why cell-tower location services might be better than GPS as a means by which an autonomous vehicle might determine its location in a city. The maximum word limit for part b. is 50 words. (3 marks) c. Your non-technical friend now understands that how an autonomous vehicle can determine its position. They now ask you to explain how GPS, alongside geofencing, can be used to determine the speed of an autonomous vehicle and trigger a warning if it is going too fast when the speed limit changes.
