Cytokines are small molecules and proteins that influence the behavior and movement of cells in the immune system. Their name comes from the root "cyto" for cell and "kinesis" for movement. There are 4 broad categories of cytokines that influence immune responses. Because they are so influential in the immune response, if cytokines are too abundant or acting inappropriate, they contribute to autoimmune disorders. Cytokines are also the target of many so-called "biologic" drugs that dampen inappropriate immune responses that are found in autoimmune disorders. Fill in the cytokine table with the function of these example cytokines and its target cell.
