A reservoir has a plan area of 100,000 m². Discharge from the reservoir passes over a 15- m wide rectangular broad-crested weir, with dimensions as depicted in Figure Q4. V 1m 2m Figure Q4 a. Estimate the weir discharge if the reservoir level is 1 m above the crest. State the flow condition over the structure in using the appropriate equation/formula. (4 marks) b. If there is no inflow into the reservoir, compute the time taken for the reservoir level to fall from 1 to 0.5 m above the weir crest. Assume C remains constant. (8 marks) c. If there is 10 m³/s inflow into the reservoir, evaluate the time taken for the reservoir level to fall from 1 to 0.3 m above the weir crest. Assume C remains constant. (6 marks) d. If Ca is not constant and varies with reservoir level, describe its effect on the solution (2 marks) for Question 4b.
