Procedures:
Step 1 - Sampling a genetic cross
(Simulated data provided below)
Corn color is controlled by one gene which determineswhether the kernels will be purple or yellow.

The seeds, which are the progeny from several crossesbetween the same parents, are the kernels on the ears. We will usea random sample technique to determine the frequency of the twocolors (the phenotypes). After the frequency has been determined,it should be possible to determine the genetic make-up (thegenotypes) of the parents in each cross.
STEP #2 In lab we would have performed the followingsteps:
Here we will use this simulated data table for yourkernel counts for each row (enter into your lab manual)Series 1 ear simulated data
STEP #3 - Determine the genotypes of the parentplants

Genotype frequencies
PP = 1 out of 4 = 1/4 = 0.25
Pp = 2 out of 4 = 2/4 = 0.5
pp = 1 out of 4 =1/4 = 0.25
Phenotype frequencies
Purple (PP + Pp) = 3 out of 4 = 0.75
Yellow (pp) = 1 out of 4 = 0.25
Phenotype frequency: 3 purple to 1 yellow =3:1
STEP #4 Calculating Genotypic, Phenotypic and AlleleFrequencies:
QUESTIOns are below
Using the second corn image (of 100 kernels) on Module #10:Mendelian Inheritance in Corn (Laboratory) (Enter your answer as afraction such as 10/100. Do not add spaces or any otherinformation!)
***** FOR YOUR KIND INFORRMATION
what is the genotypic frequency of PP.?...IS NOT 0.19 OR 19/100 SO PLEASE FIND CORRECTANSWER
what is the genotypic frequency of Pp? ... IS NOT 0.39OR 39/100 SO PLEASE FIND CORRECT ANSWER
what is the genotypic frequency of pp.?.. ANSWER= 0.42OR 42/100
what is the phenotypic frequency of purple?....ANSWER=0.58 OR 58/100
what is the phenotypic frequency of yellow?. ANSWER=0.42 OR 42/100
what is the allele frequency of P? ... NOT 0.385 OR(19*2)+39/200 SOPLEASE FIND CORRECT ANSWER
what is the allele frequency of p?... NOT 84+39/2*100 OR0.615 SO. PLEASE FIND CORRECT ANSWER
