Exam 1
There is an insulated container of negligible mass containing 85 g of water at 20 degrees Celsius. you take 100 g of a very hot iron at 745 degrees Celsius and you drop it in that container . If there is no heat exchange with the surrounding, (a) What is the final temperature of the water (b) what is the total mass , M, of iron and water in the end when the equilibrium is reached. (c) center = 4190J/kgK, Lv = 2256 *10^3j/kg, coronavirus =470J/kgK
The PV- diagram below shows a heat engine, which take 0.350 mol of a diatomic ideal gas in a cyclic process 1 >= 2 >= 3. process 1 >= 2 is at constant volume, process 2 >= 3 is adiabatic, and process 3 >= 1 is at constant pressure of 1.00 atm. The value of gama for this gas is 1.40.
(a) Find the net work done (W) by the gas in one cycle.
( b) Find the net heat flow (Q) into the engine in one cycle.
( c) What is the thermal efficiency of the engine?
(d) What is the change in entropy in this cycle ? 1 atm = 1.013*10^5 pa
