A longitudinal study followed 10,000 individuals from birthuntil age 30. The researchers found that those individuals who atea lot of candy in childhood were much more likely to commit crimeas adults. Based on this study, is it reasonable to conclude thatexcessive candy consumption in childhood causes one to become acriminal in adulthood? What are other possible explanations for thepositive correlation the researchers found between candyconsumption in childhood and criminal behavior in adulthood?
