An archer shoots an arrow toward a 300 g target that is slidingtowards her at a speed of 2.25 m/s on a slippery surface. The 22.5g arrow is shot with a speed of 38.5 m/s and passes through thetarget. The target ends up moving in the same direction as thearrow (opposite to the direction the target moved initially) with aspeed of 0.3 m/s.
A. Draw a diagram of the situation. Include initial and finalinstants to be used in your calculations, and label the +x and +ydirections.
B. What is the momentum of the arrow before it hits thetarget (include the sign)?
c) What is the momentum of the target before it is hit bythe arrow (include the sign)?
d) What is the speed of the arrow after passing throughthe target?
e) What was the kinetic energy of the arrow before it hitsthe target?
