You dissolve 1.2 g of glutaric acid into 10.0 mL of MTBE.After extracting with 15.0 mL of water, you dry the MTBE oversodium sulfate and then evaporate the solvent to recover theremaining acid. If you recovered 0.45 g of glutaric acid fromthe organic solvent, calculate the Kd.
Hint: The aqueous phase must contain whatever didn't remain inthe organic phase.
