Sometimes alleles of 2 genes influence the same trait withcontradictory effects, i.e. if thesealleles meet in one genotype, they will nullify each other. Thiseffect is referred to ascompensation. An example of this can be seen in petal colors whereat gene pair A: blue petals(A) is dominant to white petals (a). At a second gene locus, yellowpetals (B) is also dominant towhite petals (b). However, if A and B are expressed together, thegenotypes cancel each otherout. If two flowers with the genotype AaBb are crossed to eachother, what is the ratio of blueto yellow to white flowers?
