Historically, due to the baroreflex “resetting” behavior, it was considered unimportant for long term blood pressure control and prevention of chronic hypertension. Describe this resetting behavior in your response. However, recent research suggests that increased activation of the baroreflex by electrical stimulation of the afferent neurons that signal the NTS, may be a good treatment for hypertension. What do you think? Describe why the treatment is a good option and why you think this will not be a good treatment option
