In humans, there is a condition called Ellipcytosiswhich causes red blood cells to be oval rather than the normal discshape. The dominant allele E causes the condition, while therecessive allele e gives normal shaped blood cells. The geneis on the same chromosome as the Rh +/- blood typegene.
There have been a number of cases in which E +/e - people have had children with e -/e- partners. Here are some typical progeny results in these cases
Disc shaped blood cells, Rh positive 15offspring
Disc shaped blood cells Rh negative 390offspring
Oval blood cells Rh positive 375 offspring
Oval blood cells Rh negative 18 offspring
Based on this data, which progeny are recombinant? Howfar apart are the genes?
