This week, I'd like you to consider the process of socializationthrough a discussion of a material artifact (image, movie,advertisement, etc.), an exchange, or a moment (such as the BarbieGirls vs. Sea Monsters). You need not limit your discussion togender, nor to childhood, but you are welcome to locate your postthere if you have something to share. I'd also like you to considerthe larger social consequences of these socialization practices,and - as Walton discussed last week - the price we pay forconforming to or for deviating from social norms.
