1. Define /explain the following key labs, testing and commonly used perinatal meds- in your own words. Do not copy and paste definitions State when the lab/test/med would be used, why (and the expected results if it needs to be said) - to the best of your knowledge. The basic information needed will be found in your Maternity and Pediatric Nursing textbook. 2. Bring completed study guide to your inpatient maternity site where you will take turns presenting your information to your clinical group and instructor. This will help your understanding of perinatal assessment (both maternal and fetal), evaluation of well-being or complications and care provided. Prenatal Labs: . ABO and Rh Typing Indirect Coombs' test . Hemoglobin & Hematocrit, WBC . Platelets Urinalysis (u/a) . Rubella titer Cystic Fibrosis Hepatitis B screen . HIV screen Sickle cell screen (for whom?) or Hemoglobin electrophoresis . Illicit drug screen . Glucose screening . RPR or VDRL (different names for the same testing) Chlamydia & gonorrhea Group B Streptococcus (GBS)
