Task 1
In many structures, cables loaded in tension are used to supportloads. In a football match, tension in the cables are often easilycomputed using mechanics. When weight of camera increases theforces become significant, prediction of the cable tension undervarying load becomes more complicated. In designing suchstructures, clearly all load conditions need to be accounted for.As we will see, even if dynamic effects are neglected and thestructure is allowed to settle into its equilibrium configurationfor a given wind velocity maybe considered as negligible. In thisWorking model you will be designing a support to determine thetension in a cable supporting a load of one 1.5 litre waterbottle.
Demonstrate the model with tension in cable andfunctional responsibilities of various cables used in engineering,evaluate and justify your findings.
Design Constraints:
1. For load testing the three cables are at equilibrium mustrest on the support platforms which will be arranged as shownbelow:

2. Presenting the tension on the cables for the water bottleattached.
3. The cables must be resting (in equilibrium) on the supportsas shown above.
4. Teams may use an unlimited amount of string and popsicle, butthe string and popsicle number must be provided.
Judging:
Cables will be loaded in class to check the loading conditionswhich will keep increasing or decreasing.
