1000 people aged 60 years and over were tested for Covid-19
using PCR test and 100 were found to be Covid positive. Though PCR
may be the best available test, results of this test are not
readily available and may take few days. Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)
on the other hand is not as good but is quicker, economical and can
be done at home. In order to assess how good RAT is compared to the
PCR test, the same 1000 people (who underwent PCR test) also
performed RAT at home on the same day. The RAT results showed 90
Covid patients tested positive while 135 Covid-free healthy
individuals were falsely identified as positive.
Calculate the sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative
predictive values for RAT.
