1) Rules of social interaction (Ch 4): As we know, in publicspaces we see the struggle to connect and to learn from otherthrough socialization and everyday social interaction. So, oneexample, might be how we see women and men in public spaces. In thetextbook, it shares the example of women and men on a walk way, women are more likely to be "catcalled". But, this goes beyondgender, in how we see the interactions in regards to race. Goffmanasks, "What types of behavioral cures and signs make up thevocabulary of public interaction?" So, sharing your thoughts, doyou think that the advent of the internet and our technologicalchanges have better helped us to connect and interact with eachother or that we are seeing more and more struggles to interactwith each other? Are these changes causing more social trouble, andsocial problems?
