1. Assume that at exactly the mid point of the schedule the construction of a private parking garage project was put on hold for one month due to reasons beyond the contractor’s control such as weather, strikes, owner financing, or city issues.
A. How should the contractor properly deal with this delay? Discuss issues such as notice, documentation, job site administration costs, home office costs, loss of fee, loss of productivity, and quality and safety concerns. Prepare a change order claim for this delay.
2. As an alternative to item number 1 above, prepare a recovery plan to get the owner his garage on time. Show with the schedule that a recovery is possible. Submit a change order proposal for the anticipated costs associated with working in an expedited fashion. Provide all necessary cost backup.

Need to do a simplified baseline bar chart schedule at the beginning of the project 2. Assume 12 month schedule 3. Figure out where you are on the schedule at the completion of 6 months. 4. At the completion of 6 months, some activities are completed, some partially completed, and some activities have not started 5. At the completion of 6 months you need 7 months, not 6 months to complete because you have lost one month due to a "delay" and you need to identify the cause of the delay 6. Now figure out what activities need to be accelerated to meet the "recovery" schedule, so you finish on time within the original 12 month schedule 7. Some research needs to be accomplished |
