Retailer adds Japanese haircare brand to its range By VIJENTHI NAIR and REBEKAH TEO METRO NEWS Saturday, 30 Apr 2022 GUARDIAN Malaysia announced the latest addition to its brand range of products Kusabana - at a launch held at Cocodry Publika in Kuala Lumpur. Article 1 Its personal care department senior category manager Anashalwa Abu Bakar said Kusabana, which means "plant with flower" in Japanese, was inspired by the revered Japanese art form of natural beauty and flower arrangements. She said the products were a unique formulation made in Japan and bottled exclusively for Guardian Malaysia. "What makes it unique is that the products are formulated from the hot spring waters of Yubara, Japan, which is an award-winning open-air hot spring in West Japan. "The hot spring waters contain a multi-mineral combination of sodium, calcium and potassium that promotes a healthy scalp," she explained. She added that the products contained Camellia japonica oil from Toshima Island, which reduces split ends, protects hair from drying out due to external elements, softens hair and makes it shinier. "It is free from silicone and eight other (unhealthy) ingredients for healthy hair and skin. "About 90% of its contents are derived from natural ingredients, including six oils and extracts, with fragrances from world-class perfumers. "All Kusabana products are dermatologically tested and proven," she said. Guests at the event were treated to a hair wash using Kusabana products. They also indulged in a Japanese foot soak and tried their hand at the Japanese art of flower arrangement - ikebana. In a statement, Guardian Health and Beauty Sdn Bhd Malaysia and Brunei commercial director Anna Hull, who is also its South-East Asia own brand director, said they were constantly researching and bringing in the best products available at great value for customers.
