As the CEO/President/Founder of your company, analyze thefollowing legal and ethical scenario facing your company:Your company has issued every employee a cell phone forcompany/work use. Employees can bring the phone home withthem to get updates on internal company issues or deal with urgentcustomer requests outside of their regular working hours. EmployeeA decides that she no longer wants to pay for a personal cell phonesince she has a work cell phone with her all the time. Yourcompany's policy is that the phone can be used for personal use onpersonal time (not working hours) and as long as there are noadditional fees or charges incurred in using it (i.e. no fee-basedgame apps). All employees are required to sign a contractagreeing to the company’s terms and conditions of the cell phoneusage upon receipt of the phone. A provision of the contractstates that the company can demand the employee’s password(s) toaccess the contents of the cell phone at any time, including socialmedia.
Employee B's car breaks down and he asks Employee A for a ride towork. Employee B discovers during the drive that Employee Ahas been attending her North Hennepin Community College classesonline on the company cell phone during work hours. It isimportant to note that Employee A is the company's ExecutiveAssistant, and a large part of her job involves driving the companycar to pick up/drop off mail, buy supplies, etc. Sheregularly attends her class sessions on Zoom while driving the car,including when she gave Employee B a ride to work. Yourcompany has a tuition reimbursement plan and 75% of Employee A'sAssociate's degree in business administration is paid by thecompany. She really doesn’t want to lose that benefit soEmployee A offers Employee B $200 not to tell you, the companyPresident, about her improper use of the phone and Employee Bagrees.

Step 3 – Decision: (10 points) Outline your plan ofaction for Employee A and Employee B using the 4-part frameworkdiscussed in the textbook: "When making decisions, a businessshould evaluate each of the following: (1) the legal implicationsof each decision; (2) the public relations impact; (3) the safetyrisks for consumers and employees; and (4) the financialimplications."
