To determine character reading speed, you need to design a device that displays a preposition or a propositional phrase with two to twelve characters in length from a list of 30 entries. After reset, your design must display a splash screen showing its name and prompting the user to hit enter to get started. Once started, your device must randomly display an entry from the list anywhere on the display. Upon displaying the entry, your device must start a millisecond timer. The user must count the characters in the entry including any separator spaces, input a binary count of characters, and hit enter as quickly as possible. This must stop the millisecond timer and display the reading speed in characters per millisecond for the last entry. While an incorrect character count must be indicated by a sound mimicking a surprised "what?," a correct count must be indicated by a sound mimicking an encouraging "Alright!." When ready, the user must hit next to request the next random entry from the list. At any point, the user must be able to finish the session by hitting end. At the end of a session, your device must display the average reading speed in characters per millisecond only for correct counts and give the user an option to start a new session. Use the MSP432 Launchpad with the kit LCD for your user interface output. Implement your control algorithm in C language. Connect a limiting resistor and an LED to each input for visual display. Label all inputs in your circuit. This assignment is due on Tuesday, July 5th, at the beginning of class. Turn in a hard copy of your algorithm flow chart, your documented source program, and a schematic diagram of your system hardware. Take your hardware to class to show your program running for full credit. You will need a USB power supply (which will cost about $10 at various locations including Best Buy, Target, Office Depot, Home Depot, etc.). Your implementation should start running as soon as it gets powered up. ON
