In an actual refrigeration cycle, a heat pump uses R-12 as the
working fluid. Vapor enters the compressor at 200 kPa , -5 ∘C, and
leaves at 1.5 MPa , 90 ∘C. The power input (W˙net) to the
compressor is 3.3 kW . The refrigerant enters the expansion valve
at 1.2 MPa , 40 ∘C and leaves the evaporator at 200 kPa , -12 ∘C.
(Figure 1) Assume atmospheric temperature to be 298 K . Use
TESTCalc to answer the following questions.
A)
Determine the irreversibility during the compression
process.
Express your answer to three significant figures and include the
appropriate units.
B)
Determine the heating capacity.
Express your answer to three significant figures and include the
appropriate units.
C)
Determine COP of the heating pump.
Express your answer to three significant figures.
Write all the units please.
