A company is located in a 2-floor building and has a LAN that
interconnects users in the building. The LAN specifications are as
follows:
There are 5 VLANs, each for one of the departments: Production,
Sales, HR, Management and IT. Each VLAN has the following no. of
users:
o Production: 20 o IT: 8 o Sales: 4 o HR: 4 o Management: 4
The Vlan 99 will be used as the native VLAN
Three switches are used to interconnect the users:
o
Floor-1:locatedinthefirstfloorandhas24fastEthernetportsand2GigabitEthernet
ports
o Floor-2: located in the Second floor and has 24 fast Ethernet
ports and 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports
o Main: located in the first floor and has 24 Gigabit Ethernet
ports
The port G0/1 on Floor-1 & Floor-2 Switches are connected to
ports on the Main Switch. The
ports G0/21-23 on the Main Switch are used for connections to
the Floor switches.
Port G0/24 on the Main switch is connected to the port G0/0 on a
router, Central-Router,
located in the first floor. The Central-Router will be used to
provide interconnection between
different VLANs (InterVLAN Routing)
The ports on Floor-1 & Floor-2 Switches are assigned to
different VLANs and as follows:
o Ports fa0/1-12 → Production
o Port fa0/13-15 → Sales
o Port fa0/16-18 → HR
o Port fa0/19-21 → Management o Port fa0/22-24 → IT
• The ports G0/1-20 on the Main Switch are assigned to the IT
VLAN First Scenario:
Use the IP block 192.168.10.128/25
Second Scenario:
Use the IP block 192.168.20.0/25
Deliverables:
Please provide the following:
The subnet address, mask and range of usable addresses for each
subnet
The IP addresses that you will assign to Floor-1, Floor-2, Main
switch and the Central-Router.
These IP addresses have to be selected from the subnet IP block
assigned to IT VLAN.
VLAN numbers
The required configuration for Floor-1 switch:
Switch name
Console, Telnet and Privileged mode passwords
Switch IP address and default gateway
VLAN configuration
Port assignment to VLANs
The required configuration for the Main switch
The required configuration for the Central-Router
A network diagram, using Visio, or any other professional
network diagram application, that
shows the logical topology of this network
