5. A coil of resistance 82 and inductance 150 mH, is connected in series with a 100 μ F capacitor, across a 240 V, 50 Hz a.c. supply. Calculate (a) the circuit current, (b) the circuit phase angle, (c) the p.d. across the coil, (d) the p.d. across the capacitor, and (e) the power dissipated. 6. An R-C circuit consisting of a 4.7 µ F capacitor in series with a 200 2 resistor, is connected to a 250 V, 50 Hz supply. Determine, (a) the current, (b) the power factor, and (c) the values for true, apparent and Reactive powers.
